You Are What You Eat?

I often tell a joke during my wellness presentations that goes like this, “If you are what you eat, don’t be fast, easy, fake or cheap!”  It always gets a laugh!

There may be some truth to this statement.  There is a body of science that contends every whole food has a pattern that corresponds to the body part it nourishes and benefits.  This is fascinating to me, and I share a few of them with you here.  Eat up!

  • A sliced carrot looks like a human eye, exhibiting the iris and pupil. Science shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

  • A tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart is red and has four chambers. Tomatoes are good for your heart and blood.

  • Grapes hang in a cluster resembling the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and research shows grapes are vitalizing to the heart and blood.

  • A walnut looks like a little brain, with its different halves and wrinkles.  Walnuts are known to assist in developing over 3 dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

  • Kidney beans, shaped like our actual kidneys, really do help to heal and maintain kidney function.

  • Celery, bok choy and rhubarb look very much like our bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet the body pulls it from the bones, making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

  • Eggplant, avocados and pears are great for the health and function of the womb and cervix – and they look just like these organs. And … this is amazing!  It takes 9 months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents in each one of these foods.

  • Sweet potatoes resemble the pancreas and can help to balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

  • Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries, and look just like them!

  • Grapefruits, oranges, and other citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of females and can promote breast health.

  • Onions look like body cells. Research indicates onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. So, that crying while frying is good for you!

It’s a common fact that it is important to eat plenty of whole foods – vegetables and fruits. If you have a health concern with a certain body part, eat its corresponding nutrient dense food!

It may just increase your Vitality!
