The Gift of Health!

Give yourself the gift of health this year! Think about it. Many of us spend hours searching for the perfect gift for our loved ones. What do you do for yourself? What gift can you give yourself this year?
One thing I often work on with clients and in my wellness presentations is “self” time. I should create a “Self on the Shelf” for the holidays! Hmmmm……
Honestly, most of us think of others way before we think of ourselves. If you do this, try to think of yourself more in this upcoming year. One way to do this is to take care of yourself as much as you take care of everyone else in your life.
How?
Well, try a few of these ideas:
- Make better food choices. My good friend, Ginger, gave me a cute kitchen towel that says, “Eat things that grow!” Think about eating more “whole” foods – foods as they are grown.
- Try to move more. Take up walking in your neighborhood. Take the stairs. Have walking meetings ?. Just move more.
- Listen to your body when you are run down, tired or ill. Take naps. Go to bed earlier. Get the nourishing sleep your body craves.
- Give yourself free time every week. Every day, if you can. Begin to think of ways to give yourself time each day to do something you truly enjoy. Even if it’s only 15 minutes. Think of YOU first…for a change. You’ll be a better you for everyone else.
- Spend time with positive people. Don’t waste your time on those who drain you. Being around upbeat, positive people can be nourishing for your soul.
