Crisis or Opportunity?

Continuing my book theme, I read in a Jennifer Weiner book that in the Chinese language, the word for crisis is the same word as opportunity.

This struck a chord with me.  Oftentimes, when we decide to take charge of our health, it’s because we are experiencing a crisis – we may have been diagnosed with a health issue, or we realize our clothes don’t fit, or we lack energy and stamina.  The key to undoing this crisis is to make it an opportunity.

I would love to tell you about the numerous clients working with me who have solved their health crisis simply by changing their food and lifestyle plans.  They’ve taken the opportunity to live a healthier lifestyle.

Here are the simple things they do to turn their crisis into opportunity:

  • Eat good, wholesome food, fresh from a market rather than a box or can
  • Take advantage of local foods and ingredients
  • Drink lots of good, refreshing water – half their body weight in ounces every day
  • Move more – not just an established exercise regime, which is great, but moving, stretching, being active
  • Sleep better
  • – turn off electronics, have an established down time prior to sleep, and jump into an Epsom salts bath a few nights each week
  • Breathe deeply, hold it for a few seconds, and exhale.  Feel that breath nourishing your cells and taking toxins with it as it leaves your body.  Aaaahhhh….
  • Keep stress in check. Do something you like every day for no other reason than you like to do it. Take care of yourself first and the rest will follow.
  • Write down what you are eating and drinking. Document your sleep and stress levels.  Give yourself an affirmation (I look good today!) every day.

At Full Circle Vitality Group, we work with clients holistically.  We focus on their whole person and them as an individual.  We don’t do diets.  We do lives! Give us a call if you’d like some help turning your crisis into your opportunity.
