Treat or Threat?

Do you notice the difference between these two words?  It’s only the letter “h.”

Graham and Treena Kerr, chef and producer of the popular television program from our past, The Galloping Gourmet, first used this revelation to educate how our food habits can affect our health or cause us harm.  It is probably even more important today.

Harmful food habits which turn treat to threat include:

  • huge portion sizes
  • high amounts of sugars added to foods or found in foods
  • high amounts of less than healthy fats
  • high-calorie, empty calorie foods
  • highly processed foods
  • hurrying through meals and not chewing or even tasting our foods

You might be able to think of a few of your own.  Make the “h” stand for healthy choices, and keep your health!
