Feed Your Body

I read an article recently about our local pro football celebrity, LeSean McCoy, in which McCoy stated he has finally learned the things he eats – his food and eating plan – influences how he performs on the football field.

Last football season, Tom Brady made the news by publicizing he works with a nutritionist, which has helped him play at an age when most athletes are retiring.  And, my favorite football player, Gronk!, admitted to realizing eating properly and nourishing his body can affect how he recovers from a grueling game.  I’m willing to bet Serena Williams utilizes a new nutritional plan as she returns to Wimbledon after having a child.

An athlete’s body is often the tool of their trade – and the shape they are in can be a big part of their success.  So, what about the rest of us?

These lessons should tell us that the better we nourish and care for our bodies, the better we can perform day-to-day living.  One of my favorite clients recently told me they had strayed a little from their healthier eating regime – and they could tell a big difference in how they felt!  This was music to my ears – and this client is happy to get back on track because they have proven to themselves that eating properly is the key to optimal health.  Aaahhh, my job is done……😊

Feed and nourish your body as healthfully as you can, and you’ll reap the rewards of feeling better, stronger mental acuity, more energy, restful sleep and a whole host of healthy benefits.  You don’t have to join a training table to do this.

Eat good clean proteins – organic meats, wild fish and non-GMO beans and lentils.  Add healthy fats too – we NEED fat in our eating plan.  Think olive, avocado and coconut oils, and delicious organic butter.  Scarf down a pound or two of vegetables and some fruits.  I just read a statistic that less than 9% of Americans eat enough vegetables and only 12% of us eat fruit on a daily basis. Yikes!

Then add some type of movement to every day.  You don’t have to practice a sport all day like our athletes, but get that body moving like it was meant to do.  You’ll be at the top of your game!

Call us if you’d like to revamp and refine your eating plan.  We can help you achieve better health and vitality and feel terrific!  Isn’t that what life is about?
