Summer has officially arrived, according to the calendar. Do you have a vacation planned? Many health experts agree with me that a vacation is essential to good health. It is helpful to have a period of time where you unwind, unplug, and if you want, do nothing!
If your vacation time involves travel, follow some of these tips from Bon Voyage Travel, out of Lancaster:
- Pack light. If you are flying, this is an essential tip. Take half of what you think you will need, and buy a few things on your trip. This can make souvenir shopping extra fun!
- Bag it. Use kitchen sandwich bags to hold accessories; use trash bags as laundry bags, shoe covers, etc. And if you like the vacuum bags that are shown on TV sites, buy them and use them!
- Pack a sleep mask and ear plugs. This applies to any mode of travel. Try to be comfy as you travel to your destination.
- Keep a pashmina or light wrap with you! Temperatures in cars, on trains, in planes, can vary greatly. Have an easily accessible wrap to keep you snuggly!
- Bring your own snacks. Pack healthy veggies, nuts, cheese, fruits to keep your nourished as you travel. You’ll arrive feeling much better, and not like a slug!
- Make photocopies! Have copies of any important documents with you – and in your suitcase. This is especially important if you are flying or traveling by train.
