We celebrate President’s Day this week. Some useless trivia about one of America’s favorite presidents is that 72% of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address contained single syllable words, with only 28% multi-syllable words. The adage about this fact is that powerful things, like a national address, can be accomplished by using simple, clean and concise methods.
You can do the same thing if you are trying to improve your health and vitality!
You don’t need a flashy nutritional program or wacky workout regime. You need good, common-sense education and a lifestyle plan that works on ... well, lifestyle – and living!
Some simple, clean things you can do to improve your health and vitality should include some of these:
- Eat great foods! Stick to simple food preparation – eat “whole” foods – easily and simply prepared. Roast or bake your meats, steam your veggies, add some good fats (like creamy organic butter) and devour! Avoid foods that come in a box or a bag to start, or need heavily-laden sauces to be palatable.
- Move every day. But push yourself some days. Get outside to work out or find a routine online. If you need someone to motivate you, look for a local studio where the owner has a good reputation for working with you safely and efficiently. Ask us for suggestions if you need them!
- The power of sleep is amazing and often underestimated. Not sleeping well has been proven to be the cause of many modern-day disease conditions. We plan to write additional blogs on the necessity of good sleep, so keep reading!
- Watch your toxins – in your food, in your environment and in your relationships. Take a look at what you’re eating, what you are breathing, drinking, and using on your body, and whom you associate with. Eliminate or reduce anything you think might not be good for you. We can help if you need to learn to read labels or people to accomplish this!
George Washington cut down that cherry tree, and hopefully ate those cherries right off the limb! As we celebrate our presidents, consider getting back to some basics in your lifestyle. It will make you feel like royalty! Come visit Full Circle’s oval office (disclaimer – it’s really a square) if you’d like some help with getting back to basics.
